The BANANA LAMP was donated to
the I.B.C. back in the 1980's by Karl Heitz, M.B.,PHB and distributor of GITZO tripods out of New York. He has passed, but was one of the most loyal and supportive members of the Banana Club. He helped increase B.C. membership by handing out flyers at Professional Photo Trade Shows. Karl also hosted Banana Club Dinners where we awarded M.B. and PHB medals...Our way to
recognize members for sending tastful Banana items to the Club.
WE have never received a complaint about membership or the recognition M.B. or PHB medals in all the 44 years the Intl. Banana Club has been going! It's a "just for fun" Club with membership card benefits!

INTERNATIONAL BANANA CLUB MUSEUM
ESTABLISHED IN 1975 - I.B.C. Museum THIRTY- FIVE YEARS IN ALTADENA, CA -FOUR YEARS IN HESPERIA, C
NOTE: MUSEUM content was purchased and relocated north of the Salton Sea in CA. due to the loss of a site hosting agreement with the city of Hesperia,CA Parks and Recreation Dept., we had to move. They chose to "alternate exhibits" at the city sponsored facility/Harrison Building on Main Street in Hesperia, CA. This was a shock to us!, and to the B.C. membership! However, our 17,000 plus items are now at the new site. It's an old converted bar site. Hopefully, Fred and his mom give us deserved credit for our 40 YEAR COLLECTION and all our efforts to promote the site and collection around the world for over forty years via the INTERNATIONAL BANANA CLUB! WE set the Guiness world record back in 1999 for the "most items devoted to any one fruit in the world", and it is documented in the 2005 Golden Anniversary Book which is on display. We (the BANANA CLUB) made the banana museum a world famous site to see (thanks to the media and being featured on over 105 TV shows!) HOWEVER, the INTERNATIONAL BANANA CLUB GOES ON! 2018 is our 46th year as an active, fun bunch with over 38,000 card carrying members world-wide! NOTE: The Mecca museum does not support the International Banana Club per a news article? They charge an entry fee. (see it on line) For over 40 years it was FREE via the Intl. Banana Club.
The majority of all items were donated to the Banana Club by the membership of the IBC to earn B.M.'s Banana Merits! The incentive was to earn either an M.B.degree ( Master of Bananistry Medal (100 B.M's) and / or a PHB (Doctorate of Bananistry Medal) which took 500 B.M.'s! YES, that was how this collection was created and amassed to become the world's largest collection devoted to any one fruit. Documented by Guinness Book of World Records in 2005 (OUR RECORD! The International Banana Clubs!).

Banana Club members from all parts of the world can be proud to have made contributions to the I.B.C. Museum over 45 years!
I.B.C. museum items totaled over 17,000 items sent by members and purchased by the T.B. and family that was displayed at the Altadena & Hesperia sites of the International Banana Club Museum.(see youtube links)

We, the Bananister family have one "finger" (one banana) to start every day and two "hands" (bunches) a week! The fruit is the fruit of the wise men and women!
We start each day with a banana! The fruit with real appeal and the perfect snack! They come in their own wrapper and you can use them to treat bites, bruises, put a sheen to your hair, shine your shoes or treat your plants. The best part is the energy charge with potassium, Vitamins A, B1,B2,B6, C, a touch of tryptophan and 1/5th the daily requirement for fiber! Then, there is only about
98 calories. Hey! No bones and they don't squeak, leak or squirt!
